Warranty Coverage

Tech21 warrants its products against defects in manufacturing, materials, or workmanship under normal use for the specified product warranty period, subject to conditions contained in this limited warranty.  

Proof of purchase may be required showing the item was purchased in new condition to file a warranty claim. The warranty applies to the original purchaser or initial gift recipient of the applicable tech21 brand product. Other than to an initial gift recipient, this warranty is not transferable.

Please remember to register your Tech21 product at tech21.com prior to your warranty claim application.  Please save your purchase receipt in the event a warranty claim needs to be filed.

Tech21 does not warrant and is not responsible for any smartphone or other devices or products made by anyone other than Tech21. 

This Limited Warranty will apply only to Products purchased from a tech21 authorized dealer that is subject to and follows tech21’s quality controls, unless otherwise prohibited by law.

To proceed with a warranty claim, we will need you to provide proof of purchase and pictures that show where your tech21 product is defective. You can make a warranty claim:

• within 1 year from date of purchase, or

• within 2 years from date of purchase, provided you register for 2Y Limited Warranty within 30 days from date of purchase.

EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS

Except for the remedies expressly set forth above or to the extent restricted or prohibited by applicable law, the entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Products is with the customer, and the customer assumes the entire cost of repair should the Products prove defective following their purchase. In addition to and without limiting the generality of the foregoing disclaimers, this Limited Warranty does not, under any circumstances, cover defects resulting from: normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Product; cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic unless failure has occurred due to a defect in manufacturing, materials or workmanship; improper or unreasonable use or maintenance; failure to follow operating instructions; accident; excess moisture; insects; damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, fire, lightning, earthquake, or other external cause; power surges; connections to improper voltage supply; unauthorized alteration or modification of original condition; damages caused by inadequate packing or shipping procedures; loss of, damage to or corruption of stored data; damages caused by use with non-Tech21Box products; Products that require modification or adaptation to enable them to operate in any country other than the country for which they were designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications; and products purchased from unauthorized dealers that are not subject to Tech21’s quality controls. 

For customers who are covered by an applicable consumer protection law or regulation in their state, province, or country of purchase or residence, the benefits to customer under this limited warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies of customer under such laws or regulations. Such benefits may include additional warranties or rights relating to the performance of the product and remedies applicable in the event of a defect. This limited warranty will be interpreted under the laws or regulations that apply to customer in any state, province, or country, and any provision of this limited warranty that conflicts with any such customer rights or benefits is not applicable to customers covered by such law or regulation, so the exclusions and limitations set out in this limited warranty may not apply, or may not fully apply, to customer.

LIMITATIONS ON WARRANTY

Our limited lifetime warranty does not cover product damages that may have resulted from the following:

• Normal wear and tear
• Misuse, lack of care, mishandling, accident, abuse, or other abnormal use
• Modification of the product.
• Use of the Product other than for its intended purpose
• Damage caused by improper or unauthorised repair or maintenance.
• Any product that is not manufactured by tech21 (including, without limitation, any non-tech21 product that is used in connection with the Product)
• Any Product that is not purchased from a tech21 authorized retailer.
• Additionally, the warranty does not cover damage to your device as a result of the use of any tech21 product.
• Our warranty policy does not cover lost or stolen items. 

To the maximum extent permitted by law, tech21 is not responsible for direct, or for special, incidental or consequential damages resulting from any breach of warranty or condition, or under any other legal theory, including without limitation any costs of replacing personal property, or costs of recovering or reproducing any program or data stored in a device used with or carried in the incase product.

Lifetime Warranty

WARRANTY REPLACEMENT

If a defect arises and a valid claim is received by tech21, we will, at our discretion, replace any product that proves to be defective in material or workmanship with a functionally equivalent new product.  Tech21 reserves the right to send a replacement product of similar value and design. 

Warranty replacements are provided based on product availability. If your product is no longer being manufactured or is out of stock, we may replace your product with a similar or better product at our option. Some products may no longer be in production, and there may be no similar products for your device due to its age. In that event, with proof of purchase, we will offer you a product for an alternate device type of equal or lesser value.

Replacement Products are warranted (as specified above) for the remainder of the original applicable Product Limited Warranty Period.  Warranty replacements are limited to one (1) every 60 days. 

WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

To initiate a warranty claim, kindly reach out to us with your proof of purchase and clear images illustrating the specific defects in your Tech21 product.

Warranty claims must be made directly to tech21.  View our FAQ page for information on how to submit your warranty claim. For customer assistance please contact us at  helpdesk@tech21.com.  Please do not send your Product directly to tech21 without first contacting customer service, as this will only delay the process.

Once tech21 receives your Product, tech21 will evaluate your claim (typically within 7-10 business days) to determine whether the returned Product is covered by the applicable limited warranty. If tech21 determines that there is a warranted defect in the Product, tech21 will, in its sole option, remedy the defect as set forth above. Tech21 is not liable for Products that are damaged or lost in transit to tech21. We recommend that you ship your returned products to tech21 via a trackable shipment method. You are responsible for customs fees, including, but not limited to, taxes, duties and brokerage.

All Products returned to tech21 will be subject to review for authenticity. Products determined to be counterfeit will be confiscated and turned over to tech21’s legal department for action. Counterfeit cases will not be returned and consumers should seek restitution from their original place of purchase.

WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS

Except as expressly set forth above in the applicable limited warranty, Tech21 disclaims all other express or implied warranties to the extent permitted by law and specifically disclaims and excludes all implied warranties, including, without limitation, the implied warranties of non-infringement of third party rights, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. If such disclaimer of any implied warranty is not permitted by law, the duration of any such implied warranties is limited to the durations of the applicable warranties set forth in this limited warranty. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. In addition to the rights described herein, you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or country to country with respect to the exclusion or application of implied warranties, incidental and consequential damages and repair and replacement. Consequently, the limitations or exclusions specifically contained in this warranty may not be applicable to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. The warranty provided herein is limited to the value of the Product. Manufacturing specifications are subject to change without notice.

The following statement applies only to Australian customers that are “consumers” within the meaning of the Australian consumer law: “Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.”

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

In no event, under any cause of action or theory of liability, will tech21, its distributors, or suppliers be liable to customer or any third party for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, of any nature whatsoever, arising out of the use of or inability to use any product, including, without limitation, property damage, loss of value of the product or any third party products that are used in or with the product, or loss of use of the product or any third party products that are used in or with the product, even if tech21 has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Without limiting the foregoing, customer understands and agrees that tech21 has no liability for any damage or destruction to customer electronics devices or other personal property that are contained inside or outside products, including, without limitation, laptops, smartphones, cellular phones, or other handheld devices, or any loss of data contained in the foregoing devices. Notwithstanding any damages that customer might incur for any reason whatsoever (including, without limitation, all damages referenced herein and all direct or general damages in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise), the entire aggregate liability of tech21 and any of its distributors and/or suppliers will be limited to the amount actually paid by customer for any product giving rise to liability. Some states, provinces, countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to customer. The limitations of liability set forth above will apply to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law.

AUTHORIZED SELLER

Because TECH21 cannot control the quality of products sold by unauthorized resellers, this Limited Warranty applies only to TECH21 Products that were purchased from TECH21 or an authorized reseller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. In addition, TECH21 is not responsible for (and this Limited Warranty does not apply to) any goods manufactured by third parties, including counterfeit goods or imitations of TECH21 Products, smartphones, tablets, or other portable electronic devices.

Products sold on Amazon.com and sold by "Amazon" or "tech21" as the seller qualify for tech21’s limited warranty. When purchasing from Amazon.com, the only authorized sellers are “tech21” (sold by tech21 and fulfilled by Amazon) or “Amazon” (shipped and sold by Amazon), or “Amazon”(Sold and fulfilled by tech21).  For all other marketplace sites (other than Amazon.com) only “tech21” is an authorized seller. 

Products sold on eBay and sold by "tech21” as the seller qualify for tech21’s limited warranty. 

Third-party sellers selling tech21 products on Amazon.com, eBay, or any other marketplace websites will not come with the tech21 warranty as the quality of the products cannot be validated outside of the tech21 authorized seller network.

When purchasing TECH21 Products on these sites, it is important to note the “sold by” information stated in the TECH21 Products listing. If you are uncertain as to whether a seller is a TECH21-authorized reseller, please contact us at helpdesk@tech21.com prior to making a purchase.

For all warranty claims you may be required to provide a detailed invoice showing the product was purchased in new condition. 

SHIPPING

Tech21 reserves the right to charge a shipping and handling fee in connection with the evaluation and fulfilment of any warranty claim.
